Thank you for taking time to visit the homepage of the Community Dialogues Painting Series. On this page you will see updates to the project in general. To the left you will find a list of links where you will see a list of links where you can see the paintings in process, make comments, or give suggestions as they progress. Your contribution is greatly appreciated.
After the ART/GROUND opening and the first day of the Street Painting Festival I have uploaded some new images of paintings 3,4,5,6. Also, I have a few pics here of the event today. I will make sure to post more soon. See you tomorrow.
The Community Dialogue Project seeks to open new dialogue between artists and the public at large. On Friday, July 10th at 210 West Water Street in downtown Elmira at approximately 6:30 pm, many artists from the nearby area will be asked to place pigmented ice cubes on (2) 18” X 40” surfaces. On Saturday July 11th at the Street Painting Festival in downtown Elmira from 10am to 2pm the general public will have a chance to collaborate with me to create 4 larger paintings using pigmented ice. Also, a limited number of smaller panels and frozen pigment kits will be available for $20.
In my work, I deal with documentation, time, and borders. I enjoy places of transition, no matter if they are geographic or more abstract like a period of time or ideas that contradict in juxtaposition. I believe it is in the spaces between places that you experience energy, variety, and synthesis.
